DEMOCRATIC CA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE ERIC SWALWELL MIMICS REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT TRUMP IN AN ALL TIME LOW IN CIVIC DISCOURSE IN AMERICA

In A Repost Of A Disparaging Video Of Former Alameda County District and Candidate for the Seat, Pamela Price, Swalwell Stoops Once Again to the Same Low Tactics of Donald Trump

San Francisco, CA- From the floor of the San Francisco Moscone Center, where the California State Democratic Convention is being held today through Sunday, former Alameda County District Attorney, The Honorable Pamela Price, who announced December 4, 2025 her decision to run for her recalled seat, is rallying other shocked party delegates to reprimand a leading gubernatorial candidate who reposted a critical video in the vain of President Trump’s social media post of President Obama and First  Lady Michelle Obama depicted as apes.

 Pamela Price Statement:

“It was disparaging enough that the video was first posted on the Internet in 2024, but Congressman Eric Swalwell added insult to injury by reposting it to share with his network of over 460,000 followers. To post the statement ‘Why dehumanize someone you disagree with? This bigotry doesn’t make a point.  It sets your point back. Let’s do better’ while at the same time posting the dehumanizing video, is gaslighting and disingenuous.  With this type of poisonous discourse Eric Swalwell is tantamount to Trump.

Just like Trump whose name-calling and playground bullying tactics and use of power to punish opponents unleashed since 2016, Swalwell’s action shows how he engages in petty politics disguised as public discourse and those actions will be multiplied if voters make the mistake of putting him in the State House as governor.” I agree with Swalwell, ‘Let’s Do Better.’  Let's do better than to have someone like Swalwell who has consistently demonstrated such a lack of character and wisdom leading the 4th  largest economy in the world.’"

In 2024, Swalwell, joined with billionaire Philip Dreyfus, 14 police unions and his Republican supporters to agitate for the recall of Pamela Price as Alameda County’s first Black District Attorney. Pamela Price is the first Black female DA, the first DA non-appointed elected in 75 years, the first Alameda County DA to be recalled from office and the first to run to regain the post.  As a civil rights lawyer, Price developed a career to serve the underserved and to fight for social justice. She is a champion, who began fighting for social justice in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio as a result of the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  As a student at Yale, Price became the lead plaintiff in the 1977 Alexander vs Yale landmark case that established protections for girls and women under Title IX against sexual assault and sexual harassment.

In recent news, Price pointed out to the media that many reports of her being “soft on crime” as a result of “taking life without a possibility of parole off the table” in the case of the Kevin Nishita Murder was an error.   The charging of the suspects was during her predecessor’s administration and the media repeated concerns that were unfounded when the facts are researched.  See the original charging document:

Original Charging Complaint filed under O’Malley Administration Proves DA Price did not take “Life Without Parole Off the Table” in the Nishita case.

Pamela Price Defies 2024 Recall Lies And Seeks To Reclaim Her Historic Role As Alameda County DA

The current “Caretaker DA’s allegiance to law enforcement prevents her from holding law enforcement accountable.  She has demonstrated that allegiance by dismissing the Steven Taylor case, the Vinetta Martin case and the Maurice Monk cases.

Not only did the current appointed DA stop the investigations of prosecutorial misconduct in death penalty cases ordered by a federal judge, she fired the lawyers and began dismissing cases where police misconduct was in question. See the article on the Ella Baker Center for Justice website calling out the “Caretaker” for reversing Price’s resentencing recommendations: “Alameda County DA Accountability Table Calls Out DA Ursula Jones Dickson for Reversing Resentencing on Death Penalty Cases” https://ellabakercenter.org/press/alamedacountyda-resentencing/.

“Actions speak louder than words and it is my hope that the citizens of California see through Swalwell, who has shown what is in his heart,” said Price. “We remember how in November 2015 Republican candidate Trump dehumanized and  mocked the physical disability of New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski and it was all ignored, only to get worse for democracy and the nation.  Just as I am ready to stand with district attorneys around the nation against Trump to hold ICE accountable, I stand here and now, resisting Swalwell’s Trump-like actions.  Swalwell was wrong to post a dehumanizing video just like Trump and he was wrong to go against the Democratic Party in 2024 and stand with the Republican Party to call for my recall.  Alameda County voters need their voice restored.  Alameda County residents need a Champion and not “a go along to get along” Caretaker in the position of Alameda County District Attorney, and I am a Champion for the People,” concluded Price.
